Electrolytes contain ions that the body needs to have good blood chemistry and muscle action. A list of electrolytes are chlorine, potassium, phosphate, magnesium, calcium and sodium. People who work out and play sports sweat these precious electrolytes out.
It is best to skip the high sugar drinks such as Gatorade or Powerade. You can make your own. Below is one recipe for you.
1/4 cup of lemon juice
1/2 cup of orange juice (both freshly squeezed)
1/8 tsp. sea salt
2 Tbsp natural sugar or honey (I prefer honey)
Process in a blender until honey is dissolved. Remember citrus fruits are loaded with electrolytes.
